Scrapbooking Sports: A Soccer Glossary on a Two-Page Layout

"Take the Field" Two-Page Soccer Scrapbook Layout
I'm not a sports fan, but I've always loved working on sports-themed scrapbook layouts. The action-packed photos, team colors and spirited crowds can make scrapbooking those memories even more exciting.

ScrapTiffany recently challenged the design team to create layouts and cards geared around sports. This was an easy one for me since I had several photos that I wanted to scrapbook of my oldest daughter playing soccer.

I don't get many chances to photograph soccer games, but when I do, I end up taking A LOT of photos. And I don't just snap pics of team players and soccer balls. I get distracted by trees and the way the sun shines down on the field.

There's something breathtaking about capturing the sun's beams in our photos and I wanted to display that feeling of warmth on the day of the game.

After I chose the photos and decided where they were going to go, I picked out coordinating cardstock and began putting it all together. I wanted a big bold title, but the letters I had chosen didn't match the layout. I pulled out black acrylic paint, painted it on and then applied a thin coat of black, sparkly Stickles.

I didn't feel like writing the typical journaling since I had recently completed another soccer scrapbook layout, so I opted for a soccer glossary. Figured it would also help my daughter (and me) learn more about the sport she plays.

To finish off the layout, I added two pieces of ribbon and 14 buttons in honor of the two teams, 7 players each, that play during the game. And that was my soccer scrapbook page.
